Marines Hub Design Concept

Using modern technology and a viewing window, the hut will act as a dynamic story-telling centre that can show five 1-2 minute videos on how the huts and camps were built and how the Marines lived and connected with the community.

Visitors will be able to operate the system from the exterior of the building using a simple, robust “up-down” button. We understand this will be the first time a permanent audio visual system has been installed in a public park in New Zealand.

A larger window at the end of the hut will act as a viewing space where people can see a diorama of an authentic World War II hut-scene based on a P.G Navarro painting.
